Luciana Quillet Heymann

Luciana Quillet Heymann. Bachelor’s degree and Teaching Certificate in History from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ); Master’s degree in Social Anthropology from the National Museum at the UFRJ; and PhD in Sociology from IUPERJ. From 1986 to 2018, she was part of the Getúlio Vargas Foundation’s Center for Research and Documentation in the Contemporary History of Brazil (CPDOC), where she was a researcher in history, Associate Professor with the School of Social Sciences, and tenured professor with the Graduate Program in History, Politics, and Cultural Assets. At CPDOC, she served as coordinator of the Documentation Center (1999-2002), the Oral History Program (2007-2011), and the Graduate Program in History, Politics, and Cultural Assets (2012-2016), as well as editor of the journal Estudos Históricos (2012-2016). Since 2012, she has been a guest professor with the Graduate Program in Document and Archive Management at UNIRIO. She conducts research in the field of history and the sociology of memory and has a special interest in personal archives, memory institutions, public policy on memory, and uses of the past in the context of human rights struggles.
